Law Lecturer and Youth Advocate, Sri Lanka
Hansani Chapa Perera is a member of the Faculty of Law at the University of Colombo. She is also an executive committee member at the Commonwealth Youth Gender Equality Network. In 2015, She co-founded Hashtag Generation, a youth-lead movement advocating for the increased participation of women and young people in decision-making processes. She played a key role in the World Conference on Youth 2014 in Sri Lanka as a member of its International Youth Task Force, and was part of Sri Lanka’s Official Youth Delegate to the United Nations in 2013. Hansani holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, and a master’s degree in Law specializing in Gender and Human Rights Law from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.
