Kyung-Sook Lee is the director of programs for The Asia Foundation’s Korea Office. She joined the office in 1984. From 2001 to 2015, she served as the Senior Program Officer. She has been responsible for women’s empowerment programs, fellowship programs including Harvard Nieman Fellowship, and exchange programs to and from Korea, the U.S. and other Asian countries. She implemented programs on improving the rule of law in South Korea from the late 1980s to mid-1990s, and assisted with the rule of law programs for North Korea from 1998 to 2003. Currently she is in charge of international development cooperation programs funded by the Korea Development Institute (KDI) and KDI School for Public Policy and Management. Ms. Lee also serves on the Public-Private Partnership Committee at the Korea International Cooperation Agency.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Kyunggi University, Seoul; master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia (United Kingdom).
