Conflict and Peace-building Specialist, Indonesia



Muhammad Abdullah Darraz is the executive director of the MAARIF Institute for Culture and Humanity, where he focuses on countering violent extremism and community peace-building through interfaith dialogue and collaboration. He also served as the Institute’s program director of the Islam for Justice Division for six years. Muhammad has conducted programs on mainstreaming human rights values in high schools and strengthening moderate views among students. In 2011, he started The National Youth Camp (Jamboree) for senior high school students to prevent violent extremism. In partnership with Google Indonesia, he hosted social media trainings on enhancing students’ capacity to counter violent extremism. Muhammad has a master’s degree in Islamic Philosophy from Paramadina University, and a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies from the Islamic State University.
