Legal Researcher and Women's Rights Activist, Bangladesh



Barrister Nawmi Naz Chowdhury is a senior program officer at the Asia-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women, a regional NGO based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. There, she is responsible for a platform titled “Right Here Right Now,” which aims to uphold sexual and reproductive rights, and oversees implementation of this platform in 19 countries of the Asia-Pacific region. She also trains legal professionals on international human rights advocacy, with a special focus on gender, disability, and children’s rights. Nawmi holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of London, a master’s degree in Law from the University of Sussex, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2012.
