Chief Philanthropy Officer

Wendy Soone-Broder is Chief Philanthropy Officer for The Asia Foundation, overseeing the strategic direction and daily management of private sector fundraising from foundations, corporations, and individuals. She was formerly the director of Global Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships for Asia Society. In this role, she worked closely with the VP of Programs to fund global program initiatives across eleven global centers as well as funding the Asia Society Northern California Center. Wendy previously served as director of Development for the Chinese American International School, recipient of the prestigious Award for Excellence in International Education from the Goldman Sachs Foundation and Asia Society. She brings 18+ years of experience in development and consulting in the non-profit profession. With the United Way, she directed a successful a corporate campaign, and in 1984 she worked on the national Torch Relay for the Los Angeles Olympics, raising $12+ million for youth sports. She currently serves on the Bay Area Council’s Gender Equity Committee, the Asia Society’s Diversity Advisory Council, and is a member of ASCEND and Association of Fundraising Professionals. Wendy served on the advisory board with Kearny Street Workshop and the SF Symphony Chinese New Year committee.

Education: Wendy holds a master’s degree from the University of Nevada.
