The SheThinks Network Launches in Cambodia

Program Year: 2022

On March 17, 2022, The Asia Foundation’s Ponlok Chomnes: Data and Dialogue for Development in Cambodia program formally launched the SheThinks Network. The Network serves as a platform for women researchers in Cambodia to convene, share knowledge, and address gender disparities within the research community. It aims to empower women and amplify their voices to make Cambodia’s research space more inclusive.

This launch event was attended by over 60 participants including the Minister of Women’s Affairs Ing Kantha Phavi, President of the National Institute of National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations Tean Samnang, Australian Ambassador Pablo Kang, and Asia Foundation President David D. Arnold. Other key participants included women researchers, and representatives of the diplomatic corps including ambassadors from the British and Indian embassies, and a representative from the U.S. Embassy. Core partners of the Ponlok Chomnes program and other civil society leaders in also joined the event​.

The launch of the SheThinks Network was supported by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through The Asia Foundation’s Ponlok Chomnes program in Cambodia.
