Assistant Program Officer, Cambodia

Malenpunareay Lay is an assistant program officer with The Asia Foundation for the Environment Program in Cambodia. She supports the implementation of GIZ’s Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to Protect the Marine Environment (3RproMar) in Kratie province, where she provides administrative and logistics support, coordinates events, grants, and communications, as well as contributes to the program’s budget monitoring and day-to-day operations.

Punareay has two years of experience in environmental and social impact assessments and integrity promotion in business practices in the mining sector, capacity building, project management, and administration/logistics. Prior to joining the Foundation, she was a senior program assistant at Transparency International Cambodia where she was tasked with monitoring the budget and expense of the program, managing grants to partners, drafting program work plans, producing reports, facilitating training, assisting administrative and logistic arrangements, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, private sectors, civil society organizations, and communities.

Education: Punareay holds a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management from Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Thailand.
