Former Project Manager, Urban Governance Project, Mongolia

Oyunkhishig Yura (Oyuna) was formerly project manager for The Asia Foundation’s Urban Governance Project in Mongolia. This project is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation and works with the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar to better deliver local public services, especially in the city’s ger areas (home to recent migrants to the city). Oyuna has more than 10 years’ experience in working in the city’s public administration department sector, and previously worked with the Public Relations Department of the Law Enforcement University, as well as having more than five years of experience in community development.

Oyuna focused on contributing to a meaningful increase in the level of citizen participation in subnational governments, in capacity development at different levels of government, and in the effective use of existing information among decision-makers and planners. Through her work, subnational governments in Mongolia are more empowered and can improve their planning and investment decisions.
