Former Research Associate, Center for U.S.-Korea Policy

See-Won Byun joined The Asia Foundation’s Washington, D.C. office in 2008 as Research Associate with the Center for U.S.-Korea Policy. She is also non-resident Kelly Fellow of Pacific Forum CSIS. Previously, she assisted research for the Freeman Chair in China Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and provided program support to the Center for Northeast Asian Policy Studies at The Brookings Institution. She was a Brent Scowcroft Award Fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Aspen Strategy Group foreign policy program in spring 2007. Ms. Byun co-writes the China-Korea section of Comparative Connections, a quarterly publication of Pacific Forum CSIS. She studied international politics at Peking University in Beijing from 2002 to 2003.

Education: B.A. in economics from Brown University; M.A. in Chinese area studies from Yonsei University; M.A. in international affairs from The George Washington University.
