Program Specialist, Environment & Climate Change, Vietnam

Prior to joining the Foundation, Thanh worked for six years at the Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA) of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), two of those as the head of the Environmental Sciences Consulting and Environmental Health Division under the Environment Consulting Center. As such, he has extensive experience and knowledge in managing and coordinating a number of environmental projects from environmental health, environment management capacity building, and chemical safety management in SMEs to biodiversity conservation. He was responsible for program development and implementation to support for environment policy and regulations process. Thanh has developed close relationships with environment organizations within MONRE, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment and relevant local NGOs.

Education: Engineer in Agriculture (1990-1995) from Hanoi University of Agriculture, Vietnam. Master’s degree in Agriculture (2002-2004) from Melbourne University, Australia; bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in (1998-2000) from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam.
